Just a couple of kilometres off the north-western tip of Flinders Island in Bass Strait, Roydon Island concludes the chain of barrier islands protecting the coast from the full force of the easterly systems that rip though with unerring frequency.
Our three day stay on Roydon in 2018 was necessitated by a full oceanic storm, with winds to 80kn and consistently over 50kn positively striking the island.
One day two spume began to form and transform the western side of the island into a winter wonderland, albeit quite a windy one....
