Tucked behind the headland of the imposing Cape Baily, Merries Reef is a twisted, fraught jumble of undersea rocks and shelves which light up when a big sea rumbles through. The vantage point makes the apartment blocks of Cronulla pale into insignificance against the might of the storm swell.
